Practicing Yoga Can Help You Reach Your Entrepreneurial Goals

Through all the craziness that life throws our way – it’s important to have something that keeps you grounded. I’ve found that practicing yoga has been a constant source of stress relief and mindfulness and it has I am today.

Starting your own business and continuing to run it can be hectic. You have to find ways to relax during the day. Influential entrepreneur, Flavius Saracut, suggests deep breathing, meditation, spending time in nature, and exercise.

Building off of Flavius’s suggestions for deep breathing and mediation, I incorporate yoga into my daily routine. I’ve been practicing yoga for years, but I noticed a shift in how important it became once I founded my company, Experience Expositions.

Practicing yoga every day has made reaching my goals less stressful and has helped shape my entrepreneurial spirit. If you’re looking for ways to help you reach your goals, try yoga. Here’s why:

It’s a great start to a productive morning.

If you need help getting started in the morning, a yoga routine will provide you with more energy than any caffeine will. Carol Krucoff, a yoga therapist and fitness expert suggests these six yoga stretches to wake you up in the morning.

Yoga helps you get energized and in the mindset that you have to warm your body up for the day’s activities.

Yoga helps me to center my mind, balance my body, and it prepares me for anything the day will throw my way.

A productive morning can set the tone for your whole day. Jayson DeMers touches on the fact that starting the day with a proactive mindset it crucial. He shares, “Starting the day with an expectation that what you do matters will give you the best chance of getting off to a productive start. ”

He goes on to say that exercising in the morning before work can improve your mood and increase your productivity levels throughout the rest of the day.

Setting yourself up for productive days is one of the most important aspects of being an entrepreneur. You have to develop your own proactive mindset to reach your goals.

Your health & wellness is a priority.

Most entrepreneurs have long work hours and high levels of stress. You’re not going to be able to perform your best if you are unhealthy. Making your health and wellness a priority is of utmost importance to be a successful entrepreneur.

Sujan Patel, shared his secret to success and it’s taking care of himself. Sujan understands the importance of treating his mind and body with respect, which can easily be done with yoga.

Many other successful entrepreneurs have acknowledged yoga as a key to their success. Daniel Loeb, one of the most successful hedge fund managers in history, has credited yoga with the ability to quiet the fluctuations and put his mind at ease.

Similar to Daniel, I’ve realized that yoga helps with my learning process. I’ve been able to overcome obstacles and work through difficult situations because of my experience with yoga.

You set aside time for mindfulness.

I know just how crazy running a business can be. Would you believe it if I said I produce The Yoga Expo annually in Los Angeles, and it’s the most stressful time of the year for me?

While trying to bring thousands of yogis together, I sometimes forget to take a second for myself and to actually practice what I’m preaching.

When I don’t practice yoga every day, my mind seems more scrambled, I’m less productive, and I’m usually more stressed out.

Practicing yoga provides me with a time for peace during all the craziness. The best practices I’ve found are deep breathing exercises to center yourself and focus on your goals.

I’ll share a beginner level breathing technique that can be done at any place and at any time. It’s called Sama Vritti (equal breathing). Equal breathing helps with balance. Start by inhaling through your nose and counting to four, then exhale and count to four.

This is a basic pranayama with the goal of calming your nervous system, increasing your focus, and reducing stress.

What’s stopping you? Start today.

Taking time to clear your mind, practice deep breathing, and set up a daily yoga routine can have serious benefits for your overall productivity and worth ethic.

Successful entrepreneurs understand the importance of yoga and how it can positively affect your day.

I’d love to hear in the comments what you do on the daily to destress and make your entrepreneurial goals more attainable!
