Try These 5 Yoga Poses for Better Sleep

Are you struggling to fall asleep, and wake up every morning tired? Try practicing one of the sleep-inducing techniques, yoga. Many people already practice, which is a full meditation process, but certain yoga poses can also help you relax and prepare for bedtime.

1. Viparita Karani / Legs Up The Wall
If you cannot nap during the day, putting your legs up the wall for 20 minutes will do the trick and make you feel well-rested. You can use the bolster for this pose, but it is not mandatory. However, if you suffer from back pain, then a bolster is highly recommended. This pose will reduce fatigue, relieve the symptoms of insomnia, and calm your mind.

2. Supta Baddha Konasana / Reclining Bound Angle
For this pose, you will need a prop, such as a blanket, bolster, or a towel, and place it below your head and upper back. Your legs should be bent in knees so that the feet are touching, and you can also put something beneath to support the knees. This is an excellent yoga pose for nighttime, it will reduce the heart rate and rest the body.

3. Paschimottanasana / Seated Forward Bend
This pose is very sleep-inducing, and with the time you will be able to perform it better because beginners or people who are not warmed up cannot really bend their bodies all the way. It stretches your back and neck; it relieves stress and promotes deep sleep. We advise you to try it before bedtime, following other poses that will warm up your body.

4. Ananda Balasana / Happy Baby

5. Savasana / The Corpse Pose
Savasana is the ending pose of every yoga session. While you are lying on your back, your blood pressure drops, and your body is relaxing. This pose is so simple that you can even practice it in your bed. There are also some variations of Savasana with using props, but also yoga Nidra, which will guide you to enter yogic sleep.
