If youve ever had any close encounters with your intuition then you know a little bit about the new age term called manifesting. And no, Im not talking about some hokey magical superpowers that hippies and gypsies practice in the back woods. Manifest, in its simplest form, means apparent or obvious.
The reality is we experience manifesting everyday. Youve probably noticed manifesting most likely when its working against you. You are running late and you just knew you would hit a lane closure and grid-lock traffic on your morning commute. Or, how about an impromptu, late night jaunt to the frozen yogurt shop wearing pajama pants (no judgment) and naturally you run into your ex and their flawless new love. You get the idea, Murphys law.
But how about taking those same annoying, doubt-filled thoughts when something goes less than glamorous and replacing them with thoughts of the life you would really like to be living?
1. Everything is alright in the end. And if its not alright, its not the end.
According to information from UCLA, NSF (natural science foundation) and even Deepak Chopra, we have anywhere from 12,000 to 70,000 thoughts per day depending on how deep a thinker you are. Further studies show that 70-80% of these thoughts are negative.
Beat these thoughts! Make an immediate pivot on negative self talk. Sign up for a daily e-affirmation. Or 100! Block the drama on social media and follow people that inspire you, are upbeat and keep it light. The same way youd crank up the thermostat to get comfortable on a chilly day, you have the power to reprogram your thoughts. Like anything, it takes practice. Re-train the brain. Replace fear and anxiety with thoughts of I am enough, I am more than enough. Brendan Burchard says you should be asking yourself if your dreams and goals are even big enough for you. Aim higher!
2. Write it down.
Journaling is one of the most simple, soothing and releasing exercises to manifest your dreams and intentions. Want to travel more? Make a list of places you would like to go, what you would like to do there and who with get detailed! Looking for a dream job. Write down the job description, what does your workspace look like? Whats your typical workday entail? Looking for love the old saying is to stop looking and start doing the things you love, but make a note of what you want to feel like with your partner, what activities you might enjoy together. The simplest notes can often be the most profound in retrospect.
3. Be mindful.
There is such great joy in seeing your manifestations come to life. Practicing yoga and meditation can help you become more aware of knowing what you want and noticing when you get it, sometimes in a slightly perhaps even better version than you imagined! Recognize it and celebrate it with gratitude filled heart. Celebrate every moment!
